110 000 000 pieces of single use plastic are used for food delivery in China every single day. Alexander Kane and me developed WhiteLoop at Tsinghua University in Beijing in 2018, proposing reusable high quality metal trays.

This project comprises of distribution-, recollection-, incentivisation-system-, and tray-design as well as  market-, context-, financial-, environmental-, and cultural analysis. The results show that while challenging, such a system could be realised. Key is, to get metal trays to circulate at least 21 times to be environmentally and financially viable.
